Directions

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C) and grease a 9x13-in pan. In a large bowl, dissolve the yeast with 1 tbsp of sugar in the warm water and milk. Let stand for 5 minutes, or until yeast is dissolved and slightly foamy.

Step 2

Grease a large mixing bowl with 1 teaspoon of the melted butter.

Step 3

Add remaining melted butter to the yeast mixture.

Step 4

Gradually add flour and salt to yeast mixture.

Step 5

Place the dough on a clean, floured work surface and knead for 4 minutes or until shiny.

Step 6

Place the dough in the greased bowl, set aside in a dry warm place and let rise for 60 minutes.

Step 7

On a clean floured work surface, punch down the risen dough with your fist. Roll out the dough to 9 x 12-inch rectangle so that the long side is parallel to your body. The dough should be just less than 1/4 inch thick. Combine the cinnamon filling ingredients in a small bowl, and mix until combined. Spread dough evenly with filling mixture.

Step 8

Roll dough away from your body into a log. Cut into 9 equal slices and place each slice in prepared baking dish with melted filling mixture.

Step 9

Set aside in a warm dry place for approx. 25 minutes or until doubled in size.

Step 10

Place into the oven and bake for approx. 20 minutes or until baked through.

Step 11

In a medium bowl combine the icing ingredients, and mix well until blended.

Step 12

Top cinnamon buns with icing while warm.

Tip
